About
Welcome to 主おほめたたえます! “Say what?!” 主おほめたたえます is romanized as shu-o-ho-me-ta-tae-mas-u. “Say what?!” *ahem* Shu o hometataemasu translates to “Praise the LORD!” in Japanese. (It wasn’t my idea to use such a long Japanese title – ask Beni!) ANYWAYS, this is the official blog for Christ Catalysts.
Who
We are the youth group at All Nations Church of the Nazarene located in Richmond, VA, USA. Christ Catalysts was founded in June 2004 with the hopes of bringing more youth to Christ by encouraging our members to create change for Christ – to evangelize their worlds for our Lord and Savior. For more info about the Church of the Nazarene, click here.
What
In chemical terms, a catalyst is a substance that speeds up a reaction (i.e., an enzyme). As the youth group at All Nations, we hope to be Catalysts for Christ by actively speeding up and creating change in His name, hence, Christ Catalysts!
Why
We hope to create change for Christ by committing ourselves to the following purposes as set forth by Nazarene Youth International:
- Reaching youth for Jesus Christ
- Instructing youth in the Word of God and the doctrines of the church
- Building each other up in the Christian faith and in holy character
- Incorporating youth into the life and ministry of the church
- Encouraging youth to join in the fellowship of membership in the Church of the Nazarene
- Equipping youth to advance the mission of the church
- Mobilizing youth to reach their world for Christ
We want to show you just how AWESOME our God is, how much HE LOVES YOU, and how WONDERFUL is the plan which He has for your life – because there’s MORE TO LIFE THAN JUST LIVING IT FOR OURSELVES! We try to offer a number of fellowship events/activities each month to show that being a Christian doesn’t have to be BORING!
